- Biodiversity sampling protocols (Legume Futures, S Cass)
- A handbook of biodiversity monitoring protocols (C Hawes)
- Perez-Harguindeguy N, et al. 2013. New handbook for standardised measurement of plant functional traits worldwide. Australian Journal of Botany 61, 167-234. http://dx.doi.org/10.1071/BT12225
Biodiversity sampling protocols - Legume Futures Workpackage 3
The file contains a set of protocols for measuring biodiversity in the Legume Futures project, specifically Workpackage 3. Topics include vegetation, earthworms, invertebrates, site-specific requirements and chemical risk assessment guidelines. Though designed for Legume Futures, the protocols will find wider application. Click on the link to open or download the document containing the protocols.

Handbook of biodiversity monitoring protocols
The handbook contains a set of protocols for measuring the populations of plants and arthropods in and immediately around fields. Topics include seedbank, emerged weeds, margin vegetation, pitfall trapping, suction sampling and bee/butterfly counting. The protocols are based on those developed in the Farm Scale Evaluations and since adapted for use in standard field work at the Centre for Sustainable Cropping near Dundee and more widely in arable-grass croplands in east Scotland. They are not designed specifically for experiments on legume crops and can be deployed in a wide range of crops and cropping systems.
